Washing machine error codes
An error code is a clue. Its meaning and the right next step depend on the brand and sometimes the exact model.
Before you look up a code
- Record the code exactly as it appears, including letters, spaces, and numbers.
- Find the full model number on the appliance label or paperwork. A suffix can matter.
- Choose a guide for the correct brand and appliance, then compare it with your model manual.
Find the full model number
For LG front-load washers, the model label is often behind the door around the drum opening. LG's guide shows other locations for top-load models, including under the lid. Use the LG model and serial number guide to match your washer type.
For Samsung, use the Samsung US washer support page to find the model-number lookup for your machine. Keep every letter and suffix when comparing a support article with your manual.
